Humaira offers counselling skills and experience, and work with all ages to cover issues of mental health, stress and burnout, lifestyle change, smoking cessation, teenage pregnancy and more general life and occupation stress.
Humaira's areas of research and counselling are varied and cover many health concerns from addiction, impacts of substance use, pregnancy, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, Neonate Abstinence Syndrome, early and post-menopause care to dealing with difficulties in school and relationships.
She has a Doctorate in psychology, health, wellbeing and stress; and a counselling certificate. She is a full-time lecturer in Health Promotion at AECC University College mainly lecturing student chiropractors on public health, health promotion and communication skills. Humaira is trained in behaviour change using a person-centred and a cognitive-behavioural approach. She uses a humanistic Rogerian counselling approach to assist clients who need advice and onward referral.
